Red Back Ginger - Alpinia caerulea

Red Back Ginger (Alpinia caerulea) is an Australian native that brings a tropical feel to any garden. Named for its striking deep-red leaf undersides, this lush ginger grows in dense clumps with glossy green foliage that catches the light beautifully.

A hardy and low-maintenance plant, it thrives in shaded to semi-shaded positions making it ideal for underplanting beneath trees or filling out a tropical garden bed. It produces small white flowers followed by vivid blue berries, a favourite food source for native birds.  Likes part shade to full shade and grows to 1 -2 mtr high
